Jessy Mendiola was born from United Arab Emirates where her father used to work, she is the second of three siblings, her mother is Filipina while her father is British-Lebanese. She was three years old when her mother moved and brought her to the Philippines, her mother left his husband due to undisclosed reasons. Her youngest sister was born in the Philippines when her parents reconciled. Her parents eventually separated for the second and last time. She remains in contact with her father, who now works overseas. Jessie Mendiolla studied elementary along with her elder sister in Our Lady of Mercy School in Quezon City and high school in that same school.
Jessy was spotted by Mr. M when she enrolled in ABS-CBN’s public acting workshop. She readily agreed when Mr. M asked her if she wanted to be an actress. On June 3, 2007 she was launched as member of Star Magic Batch 15.
